Supercharge a 07 F150 5.4L 3V

I have a 2007 5.4L with 89k miles. I also have true full dual 2.5" flowmaster exhaust. I want a whipple supercharger. I read in another thread that I should change the injectors to 36 lb cobra injectors and get a troyer valve body but I called whipple and they said I don't have to change anything at all. This is my daily driver. I have no intentions of going over 8 psi. What are yalls opinions?

Don"t listen to Whipple on this one. I don't know if anyone runs the stock injectors with the Whipple even at stock boost levels. On mine I tried to see what it would do and at colder temps. mine would go lean at anything past 1/2 throttle so I upgraded to the 39# injectors and a new tune. Valvebody is a good idea.

He said the kit come with a PCM tuner. Would you think that one would be alright? Or should I look for something else that would be better suited for the injectors and the valve body? Also do you think this would be too much on a daily driver?

Just figure on getting a SCT XCAL tuner with an email tune from Troyer or JDM with 39# injectors and a valvebody to get you started unless you are close enough to a good place to get a dyno tune. It seems there are only a few people around the country that have a good reputation with tuning these trucks with a supercharger. The stock tune that comes with the Whipple is not very good and there is nothing you can do with the programmer they provide for the increased injectors and the valvebody.

Mine is my daily driver so NO, its not to much for a daily driver, if anything you will want more. I thought the same thing about 8 psi being enough but I wish I had more. You probably won't see 8 PSI anyways, most people don't. I only can see 8+ when its winter time, in the summer for me its best is 7.5 but its not as hot up here compared to most of the guys running the Whipple.

there are 3 generations..

xcal
xcal 2
xcal 3

3 is the latest. 2 will get the job done.

Get 39# injectors and a tune from JDM or (dare I say it) Troyer...

You'll love the Whipple. Hell you'll love any blower. 8psi with a custom tune will land you right around 390-400rwhp. You will need the 39lb injectors. (I've got a set if your interested). The tuning that comes with any supercharger is horrible so go custom with SCT and a Troyer or JDM tune.

I could leave my edge evolution on and set it to the stock setting to have those 4 extra computer readings and run it with the xcal2 couldn't I?

4.10s if you plan to go to the track as most slicks/DRs are small and any more then a 4.10 will be to much. For street depends on tires. I plan to run a 305/45/22 coming up and will run a 4.56 gear. I dont plan to run slicks or DRs but will track it once in a while on streets.

I am running 4:30's with 305/40/22"sand it is great on the street but loose a little top end but I am in a pickle when it comes to drag slicks and radials. If only I could fit a 16" wheel on the back then I can go to a whole new set of slicks that would work with the lower gears.

Are you 2 or 4x4? What gears are you running now? If your current gears worked without supercharger than they will work after you throw some boost on it.
