centrufigal and turbo setups, IAT relocation questions

as the title says, how do I relocate my IAT sensor to between the throttle body and intercooler?

I've researched it but can't find any pictures, and if I drill a hole in the tubing I'm afraid of it popping out under boost

You need to weld on an aluminum bung, threaded to match your threaded iat. You can use an SVT iat which is already threaded or thread a straight one yourself. Using the stock grommet is unreliable. Sorry no pics.

I have been wanting to do the same. There is a member on here who drives a red stepside 4x4 with lightning wheels that has moved his sensor between the two. I couldnt find anything on google so I gave up on it for now.

Yea, that would be a problem. Brenspeed has kits for the Stangs Jer, but it's a drill and tap. A tigged in bung would be best, IMO. But yea, how do you incorperate the sensor ?

Here's the Brenspeed, if you haven't seen it yet -

ONELOWF has the answer.

Measure the dia of the sensor and in the rubber/silicone connector in front of the TB drill one size smaller. Push hard to get the sensor pushed in. Drive and enjoy. Mine hasn't leaked yet.

Well that sounds easy enough for me. I prolly wont be running 15lbs any time soon so I think I would be fine too. Ill prolly stick with 12 for a bit till I get a built engine.

Shouldn't be. You want it in the stock location or as close to the throttle body as is practical.

I'm gonna move it to the coupler right in front of the Throttle Body and see how it works

I extended the wires on mine using a splice made up of four 2 wire flat trailer connectors. So If ever I change the location I can remove the splice and still connect to the harness.
