2007 Saleen F150 S331

Probably old news, but just found out about this myself. Looks pretty cool to me, except I could live without the tail pipe placement. Looks as if it would cause a bit of damage to the paint. Otherwise truck looks awesome. How bout some opinions...,

Speedo should go higher than 120 with 450hp in that thing.

High 40k's? Wouldn't an SRT10 be cheaper? I think it looks like a great truck but they've got to get the pricing more competetive.

Hi Wittom, how's that lightning of yours doing?? Very envious !!! Looks like it's down to just Iron Horse and myself with the Eaton M90's. That is till I-H does his swap. Pricing is pretty much on par with the SRT-10's. For a regular cab SRT-10 you're probably looking in the mid 40's, the extended cab's are in the upper 40's to lower 50's. Prices have dropped on them, especially since the price of gas went a bit nutty. Nice thing about the S331 is that it's limited production. Approx only 1,000 or so made. Each vehicle has it's production number right on the bumper. Talk about obscene pricing, I went to a Ford dealer who sells Saleen's and he had a Supercharged Saleen Mustang. VERY sharp looking car, but MSRP was $55,000 and it's non-negotiable. Ouch !!!

The Lightning is OK. No need to be envious. I'm envious of every fast car and truck that hits the market. The Lightning had it's day but now there are many faster vehicles out there. That's one thing I miss about the '98. When I got it is was a completely stock 220hp. It was my hard earned money and my sweat that improved that truck. I really like the Lightning but there was a lot of pride in that '98. What a difference that M90 made on that 4.6! I would have hung on to that truck but it was a now or never situation. The '98 was paid for and worth a good amount in trade. It needed some work too (ball joints, breaks, and a small amount of body work, more power, more power, more power).

I guess your right, the Saleen is close to the price of the 4 door SRT10. I'd rather a Ford. If the Saleen was cheaper I would consider going further into debt to have one. Maybe it's a good thing it's expensive.

Front end is very good, supercab is very good, interior is very good, and the lower body panels are good. I think it was made for you. You should get it and then the only threads you would have to read and write about is... what wax to use.
