Ground Force 2" Drop Shackles installed on 2011 H.D.
3 Attachment(s)
So after 3hr of getting the old shackles out and the new drop shackles installed and a few snags alone the way. Did not need to install shims and no drive line vibration.
Here is how she sits: Sorry the pic isn't very good, the sun had already went down so you can really see the gaps between the tire and fender. Will get some better pics after washing her today. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...29/photo-1.jpg Here is some comparison pics: Attachment 12092 Attachment 12093 Attachment 12094 |

Looks good tho! Ohhhkay it was more like 2 1/2 haha but we ran into a problem with removing the old shackles. Apparently Ford ran the bolts weird and we had a problem getting the bolt removed from the eye hole. |
Yah you have to lower the truck or lift the axle to clear the bolt over the frame

That looks awesome!!!
Something the grim reaper would ride in haha murdered out |
It does look pretty good! Any way you can post before and after pics together for comparison?

You should put the shims in anyway. If you load down the bed the vibration could show up.

Would loading down the bed change the angle of the drive line? May sound like a stupid question and maybe an obvious answer but don't really know much about suspension.

Absolutely, just think about it this way, your engine/transmission is mounted to your frame and your rear axle is a separate part that can move up and down in relation to the frame. Now imagine the drive shaft connecting the two... you wont get much forward to backward movement but up and down you sure will.

Quick question patman since you are a lowering guru. We ended up running both the bolts into the shackle the same way opposed to how it was from factory where as one bolt went in one way and the other the other way. Is that okay or should we change it back to how it was? Not sure if that even made any sense.

Looks great!

The bolts don't matter which way they go. They have the "locking" side towards the frame, and then you just drive the outside of the bolt/nut
