3-way component set???

Anyone ever put in a 3-way component set (6.5", 4", 1")in the front doors? It looks like you could cut out a half-round area just below and rear of the 6x8 hole, make a MDF plate to fit the 6.5" and the 4", and mount the tweet just in front of the door handle.

Will this work? GOTTA HAVE MORE BASS AND MID-BASS! :D

I think you will have a hard time fitting all that behind the stock grill. If you want more (mid)bass try a set of 8s in the factory locations. A 3-way set up wont help you much in improving your bass reponse.

I haven't done it but you could no problem I'd bet. i installed a set of 6.5"mid woofs in the doors and the rest in kicks. You could prob find room for the 4"s as well. Take your doorpanels off and see what you think...

acually its easy.

I just had a 6" in there and all you have to do is make a 1/2" plate that is over sized 5x7(its more like 7x7 with the corners cut off) then make a 6" hole in it and bingo your done.
I suggest sound deadening..
I just ripper mine out for some 8" subs behind the doors..
only try this if you are skilled and don't mind cutting.

take your time and trim slowly..

6.5 speakers

I mounted 6.5 components both front and rear in my supercrew.
(the rear was easier because there is a box you can take off to mount the speakers to.

I traced the stock 5x7 on to a piece of 1/4 board.
then cut it out, you can make it about 1/8" bigger
then I layed the round speaker template on the board and cut the 6.5 hole.
then I got a 2" hole saw and cut a hole for the tweeter.
you need to mount the tweeter really close to the bigger speaker butting up.
then mount cross over on the door - works great.
