Subs in '02 SD Crew Cab?

I am not an audiophile by any stretch, just want some bottom to the tunes, and don't want to give up anything in the way of space. I found some boxes that I believe will fit under the back seat, but wanted to see if anyone else has tried this. They are for an 8" sub, and the box dimensions are 10" x 10" x 4" deep. I am used to having a single 10", but thought I probably need to go to dual 8"s to get a similar sound. Any thoughts on this?

I would stick with the single 10 inch sub. I had two 8 inch Kicker Comps in my old truck. When I got my new truck I put in one JL 10W6. I used the same amp that was puching the two 8's. By far, I felt a big difference. What 10 inch sub do you have. If you don't have it already, I would get a JL 10W6 or a 10 inch Solobaric (the square solo), you will love it. Make sure you get enough power to the sub, and you will agree.

I actually have two 10" subs to choose from - an MTX and a Pioneer. However, I don't want to give up the space required for either one of them. Thus - my question about 8" subs. My thinking is that I can use the otherwise wasted space beneath the back seat and get some bottom (although I realize not as much as a 10").

Any other thoughts?

JDMnAR,

Go to subbox.net and click on the 'Ford Boxes' link.
Scroll down the page to the 'F150 X-Cab 2-Piece Box' and take a look at those as well as the other Ford boxes they sell.

Mike -

Looked there already - nothing for an F250 Crew Cab.

Is the seat different on the F-250 compared to the F-150?
They have a box for a 2002 F-150 Screw, wouldn't it fit an F-250 also?

I would sell the MTX and Pioneer and buy a 10'" JLW6 or a 10" Kicker Solo. Check there web site, but I am sure the amount of space needed for the JL or Solo are about the same as a normal 8" sub.

You don't have to give up any space what so ever!!! You can build a custom box without much effort, or have one built by a pro that will house two 10" Solobarics, or two 12" Solobarics for that matter. Your truck will FREAKIN' ROCK!! Trust me!! Check out the link in my sig. I now have two 12" Solobaric L7's in there instead of the two 10s. It's BADD ASS!!! Let me know if you have any questions...............JB
