Possible 15inch ported??
 

Anyone know or tried putting a 15 with a ported box in a screw cab, and kept the back seat or atleast the right and left seat??

I think it can be done, with a seat lift and a 15 with a shallower mounting depth.

Id like to find out. I don't have a problem putting it right behind the console between the back seats..

Clifford, back seats in a truck ? What the heck are those for ? Don't you usually sit in the front drivers side ? ;)

Seriously though, a ported 15" is going to be tough. My best advice though, is when searching for the best sub for your purposes, do not pay any attention to statements like > "Will work in as little as x cubic feet" Oh sure.... It will work, which is to say, the cone will jump back and fortrh, and it will put out some kind of slop....
But what you want to read / hear is (and you can always obtain this info from the manufacturer or a tech) what is "the optimum cubic footage" for said sub ? This can vary a little, depending on your preferred music type.... But not that much.

Expect most 15"s to need at least 3 cubic feet net, or 4.5 before porting, sub, bracing displacement. Going sealed would knock it down to little more than 2 cubes gross.

But anyway, just don't choose any sub, that you can't accommodate with the optimum enclosure.

Gotta have the back seats for the 2 kids and company. Im thinking a twelve is gonna be about this biggest i can go for the best bass output.. Music of choice is Rap, and Country..

Pretty sure you could fit a shallower 15 with a seat lift... I've contemplated running one ported in about 2.5 ft^3 tuned to 30hz.

still looking for idea fellas. I need a 15.. thinking of a wall that takes up the center seat..

honestly its not even worth it IMO, i have done plenty of set ups on my back seats, 2 10s, 2 12's most recently i had 4 12s along with 2 batteries on the back seat, my current set up is under the seat and i do not regret it one bit! sounds great but there is enough bass there when you need it

The output from a fullsize twelve is gonna be better than what you can get from a shallow 15. The 15 will have more cone area, but you can probably fit a 12 in there with a full size motor a lot easier. But irrc the digital designs 1515 doesn't need to much airspace for a 15".

Get 2 quality shallow 12s sealed (BMs or Alpines). Plenty of output, excellent low frequency extension, no seat lift needed.
