Unless you really know what you're doing, I wouldn't build them. Run them active or have a professional build them. They need to be specifically designed for you exact application...ie speaker model, speaker location, on or off axis, degree off axis, etc. There are so many different factors in building homemade crossovers, its hard to get good sound unless its damn near perfect.

Yes.

active would be nice but cost to much and so would getting someone to build them. so let me ask this i have an old set of 3 ways components that came out of my car and the 4" mid gets to much of the low bass that should go to the 6 1/2" woofer and it makes it pop and bottom out when turned up. they have done this ever since a bought them i guess just a crappy crossover design or component system all together.but is there a way i can change a resistor or inductor in the crossovers that came with them to keep the lows out of the mid 4"without ***king everything else up.

you know i never said they would be going in my truck. i was planning on using them in my 700fi rhino or on my 500 foreman that gets full of mud and wet all the time. so why would i need to throw them away for that. and i just asked if there was a way to keep the lows out of the 4" mid not what your opinions were on the speakers or the company that makes them. and i had no intentions of trying to get any quality sound out of them. just something cheap that i already have to use for drinking tunes and playing in the mud.

Gotcha.

Ya, if you can shoot me all the T/S measurements, I will run some numbers and get you the Inductor/Capacitor sizes to clean it up.

Get yourself a pair of these capacitors and run them in line (either +/- doesn't matter) after your crossover and before the driver. Without knowing what your crossover is set to, these will high pass everything over APPROXIMATELY 850hz. There may be gaps in the frequency range if your mid bass doesn't play up to this frequency, but oh well, its just for the Rhino right?
