Subwoofer won't work!

Hey all. I'm new to the forums, so please don't flame if this question has already been answered, but...

I just had a Kenwood DNX7120 HU installed in my 04 F-150 SuperCrew Lariat. Everything works fine with the exception of the stock subwoofer.

I didn't notice the sub wasn't working until about 20 minutes after I had left the shop and as it turned out, when I went back the shop was closed up for the day.

Now I don't know whether or not they screwed up and forgot to connect a wire, or whether or not the factory subwoofer will even work with my new HU. I was reading online that some kind of new wiring harness may be needed or something along those lines? Clarification would be great.

I'm not an expert on this by any means. Any help that's provided will be appreciated, but mainly, all I want to know is should the sub still work with this new HU, and if so, what may the problem be?

Thanks!

Yes, there is an aftermarket harness to make the OEM subwoofer work. Maybe they didn't order it - or maybe didn't hook it up at all / properly??

I'm willing to bet they didn't hook it up at all. The guy who installed the HU didn't even realise until the wiring was done that the sub was even there. I'm headed back in the morning to have them re-examine the unit and see if they can fix it without too much issue, but we'll have to see what they say. I spoke with the Manager of the place very briefly and he said that sometimes the factory subs don't work with aftermarket HU's. Would you be able to give me the link to the EXACT wiring harness I need to make this work, since I'm assuming you know exactly which one it is? It'd be appreciated, since if they don't have it in stock I can probably order it for cheaper than they could.

Many thanks!

Here you go:

Smaller plug is for the sub, has turn on lead and RCA inputs.

All they need to do, is tap into the sub harness with a set of RCA's chopped in half plugged into the sub out on the unit. (8 pin plug) And then take a 2 1kohm resistors (Brown, Black, Red) and make a Y out with them. One will go to the sub turn on the other to ground.

1 (L -> R). Signal +
2. Signal -
3. 5v+ turn on
4. Shield

If they have any questions have them call me. (Email me for my #).
