I just installed a Pioneer Avic D3 last night in a friends F150. I used the correct bypass to plug into the sub. Everything works fine.. the sub fires nicely, just as it did before. However, when you turn the vehicle on you hear a pop on the subwoofer (radio volume is turned down). It is the factory amp/sub. Any thoughts as to why the sub would pop when receiving power? FYI - the power is hooked up to a switched source.

 

check your ground wire. its probably not grounded good

 

yea you have to put a 3k resistor between the blue wire on the sub adapter and the switched power wire. i had this problem as well but lived with it for about 3 weeks before i just upgraded the subs

Between the switched??? Ive not done that.

did this happen in a ported or sealed box...... because sometimes when its cold outside the pressure can be different inside the sealed box and outside the box so the subs will miss hit until they equalize the pressure....

 

i had the exact same setup and it happened to me all the time. I dont think you will have a problem with it it can be just annoying. Im upgrading my system right now so I shouldnt have it anymore
