Subs in Small Box

Hey all. I am building an enclosure for my MDX. It fits up in the factory location with a series of MDF rings that will come out of the factory hole and be built into a box on the outside of the factory spot. Anyway, depth is no problem but, space is. I am probably going to end up with .5-.6 cubic feet. What are some really good subs that might fit? Can be 10" or 12". Just has to fit in a small sealed box. Will have about 500 watts at 2 ohm from my Zapco 500.1 coming tomorrow (). I am thinking about a 10" IDMAX but, its minimum is .6 and I am going to be cutting it really close.

the IDMAX has a 7.5" or so depth. sure that will fit??

Maybe an IDQ? or one of those elemental designs 11kv.2 subs, its a 10" sub, 5" depth and excellent in .5cu ft enclosures. check it out.

"11Kv.2 Reccommended 0.5cF Sealed Enclosure FR Information
Frequency Response : 10 - 100Hz @ less than .5dB Variation
Average SPL in 0.5cF Sealed Enclosure : 120.62 dB
Peak SPL Out in 0.5cF Sealed Enclosure : 134.0 dB @ 55Hz"

Your box design sounds interesting. mind takin a pic of it?? im curious;)

I will take some pics when I get a little closer. I stole the idea from another MDXer. Really cool idea in my opinion. I have all the rings made now that will fit back up in the factory location and enough rings to space it out just past the factory plastic panel.

Like I said, depth is not a problem. I will have in the 10" range depth wise I can use. I have a 10" IDQ now that I am going to try in the new enclosure to see how it works but, I want something even better. The ED subs are nice, I have ran them before but, they are no close to the IDQ or the IDMAX. If I can figure out a way to get around .7 out of the enclosure, I am probably going to go with the IDMAX.

Thanks.

If you can fit IDMAX, I would have to say, go for it... I myself have never owned one, but have heard a few... I have had 10" IDQ and elemental designs 11kv.2, between the two, IDQ is better by all means.....

I'm not sure if the BM12 is still being clearanced, if so, may want to check that out also..... at 170.00 shipped, hell of a deal....

BTW, just looked and it looks like the deal is still on......

Don't throw out a name like that to me without a good link to more info:devil: I did some looking and can not find much on them. They seem pretty rare.

Truck'in...Do you happen to know what size box the 12" BM needs. I actually thought about that one but, did not know the box size.

Damit Guys, see what you done, you made me goto SI website one time to many, just called Nick at SI and ordered a BM12 to compare to my Rainbow Profi 12.... I've got to know which one is better...

Oh and BTW, Nick said the BM preforms better in the upper range of recommended sealed enclosure size....
