F150Truck'in Audio System Upgrade Underway..

Got started on it today, so far I stripped the old amps out, caps, 4 ga, rca's... cleaned the wall with alcohol, deadened it, fitted the MDF and got the 1/0 though the fire wall, that was a Royal BISH....

Now its Miller Time...

Keep up the great install info
1. Est. time to deaden wall?
2. Amount, brand and cost of material used on back wall?
3. size of mdf?
4. Tips and hints for first timers? :D

I'm doing mine this week and your info as always is sooooo valuable:bows:

Edit,
Why didn't you cover the rear flaps like others have done??

Around 1 1/2 hrs....

2. Amount, brand and cost of material used on back wall?
little under 15Sf of Elemental Designs eDead v1SEČ at $1.60 SF but can be gotten here for 1.28 SF http://www.edesignaudio.com/edv2/index.php?cPath=90

3. size of mdf?
3/4" but keep in mind that I have a seat lift and modded it to raise the upper back seat up and out for more clearance behind seat, you may want to use 1/2"
1-20" X 33 1/2" 1- 20" X 15 1/2" both with bottom corners trimmed...

4. Tips and hints for first timers? :D
lets see, clean metal real good, over lap all seam on deadener, make sure to use the right length screws of your application and stay in the double walls, you don't want screws sticking out the back of your cab wall....

Edit,

Why didn't you cover the rear flaps like others have done??
Most every body does cover them, but I don't want to imped the air flow from Heat and A/C as I hardily ever have a window rolled down, I don't smoke and hate wind noise. on my old system I could never hear the flaps inside the truck, I can hear them outside my truck if I get out with the system cranked....

I'll be taking more pics as I go...

ahhh you gotta love the eD stuff. my whole car is done with them, no sound deadining yet though.

:fyi: here is a little seceret: go on their site (http://www.edesigneaudio.com) and if you type "forum" in their search, they have their special discounted forum prices on some subs, as well as all their eDead

sorry truckin' you coulda got it for $1.28 a foot instead

i was trying to decide if the vents was helping or hurting my subs sound, hmm

Ok, back on track...
I didn't get many pics today as I was mainly rerunning speaker wire to get the longer runs I need to move the Germs Xover to the rear wall..
Test fitting amps and power blocks for wire routing..
Did pull both front doors down to get the tweeter and xovers out...
Finished running the 1/0 to the rear... did get pics of that and a close up going though the firewall...
I'll more than likely be working on this more in the evenings this week...

though the firewall

It was, very heavy....
spelling corected.... maybe a few to many Millers....

it the same grommet I had 4ga though, the only bad thing is the heater box is right behind it, so it still a Bish to get wire though....

its not hooked up yet, just laying beside the bat.. I end up just getting regular black loom... it will be on there before it goes live....
