SI BM Q's???

for those who own or have heard an SI BM 12", would it sound good in a sealed box with 3FT^3 with 1200 watts RMS? would a sealed enclosure not be good for it? please enlightin me:D

I dont think I would run 1200 wrms to one...especially in 3 cubes.

Thats kinda power is more towards the Mags territory.

It would sound good for about 2 seconds before the smoke rolled in.

I agree. That is pushing it quite a bit. Like Bartak said, that is Mag territory.

I'd love to get a mag for a day and toss my 4000D at it.

sorry guys, I meant for 2 Bm's in 3cubes. 1.5 each after driver displacement

jmt0645 Jun 13, 2007 04:30 PM

guys??

Oh 1500w on 2 BM12's. That's what I'm pushing with about that much air space as well. They do sound damn good but I can't really compare the BM12 to anything else since my budget don't let me do many changes. If I had the cash I'd probably get a pair of Mags instead.

well, my budet for subs is ~450. the amp is an old rockford my bro-in-law is lending me until I get one of my own. it does 1250watts at 1ohm. can they handle that much?

Impact9 Jun 13, 2007 11:55 PM

mine handle around 750w RMS each daily.

But like anything else you mileage may vary.

Impact where did you buy your BM's from? And are you running them at 2ohms?

I got them from low-hz.com running together at 1 ohm to get my 1500w out of the 4000D.
