3 10's or 2 12's

Alright guys, my system has been a work in progress for a while now. I have decided that no matter what i do not want to have to deal with a seat lift due to me carrying around people all the time. I want to run 2 12 idq's but dont know if its achievable without a seat lift. My next option would be to run 3 idq 10's or 3 jl w3 10's. I love the deep bass of the 12, but i also love the tights punch bass of a 10, so im kinda torn inbetween. The amp i will be running is a jbl1200.1. One of my friends will be making the box for me. What are your opinions, should I go with the 2 12's, or the 3 10's? Any advice is appreciated :beers:

If they will fit without the lift, I say 12's. I love the sound of good 12's in a good box.

two 12's for sure. I had four soundstream usa 10's on the first system I ever built for myself. Changed about three months later to two SoundStream USA 12's. For what I was listening to at the time, they were perfect. If was putting something in today, I'd probably go with a single 12 or two.

Find shorter friends and get the 12's! I've had 12's in other vehicles and I love the sound. Their nearly perfect for punch and rumble.

I vote 12's too. If you end up with the 10's...I wouldnt even think about W3's if you already though about IDQ's.

sounds good guys thanks for the input. I'm not sure if the idq's will be loud enough though. I want good clean bass but i also want it to be loud as hell. Basically a sql setup. Who was the member that just purchased the 2 idq 12's?

that'd probly be me. they'll arrive on monday according to fedex.
When I get my income tax from uncle sam I'm purchasing an
Audiobahn A8001V amp to push the 2 12's in a custom box, both of which I'll be getting from www.woofersetc.com .

good 12s with a good box and proper power will def have a lower response and more deep bass. however, 10s can do some damage when done right. all depends on power and enclosures. without proper air space... your screwed. check my gallery for some install pics of my 3 jl 10s

i think ill just stick with my original plan of 2 idq 12's, hopefully they'll be loud enough for my liking. Drew out some pictures for the box today, the net volume is just a little over 2 so it should work out perfectly.
