What is actually included in the 2005 Audiophile option?
I've done some searching, but can't find out what is actually included in the Audiophile. Yes, there is an amp and an enclosed sub. But that's about all I can find out.
How big is the sub and what are the specs (RMS, enclosure volume, etc.)?
How big is the amp and what are the specs (output, channels, etc.)?
I know that there are at least two speakers in the doors -- looks like a component-like set-up with small tweeters up top and mids down low. Are these driven by an amp or just from the HU?
With all the upgrades and swapping (and the discussions that do along), I haven't been able to find these basic specs on the factory audiophile system. Thanks.

Me either! I just ordered an 07 Screw, and thought long and hard about this option as a platform on which to build. With a lack of detail on the specs, I decided to skip it. I'll keep the standard 6-disc MP3 HU, but add a 4-channel amp, replace the door speakers, and add a sub with its own dedicated amp.
I'm still interested in the Audiophile, so will be watching this thread. Good luck!

i have an audiophile on my 04 and it is loud! the bass is really strong at low to middle volume but at high volume the speakers will overpower it. As far as specs i do not know. It is a good option if you want loud or just good sounding. People can hear me with windows down from a block away without seeing me and im all stock. My gf complains about her stereo because mine sounds so good. so it also brings clear sound
Thanks SAtownTX, but I've already got the Audiophile, and its ok. Definitely have heard better, but for a factory system not bad. However, WE ARE LOOKING FOR SPECS!! i.e. make and model of speakers/subwoofer, RMS power for both speakers and amp, etc... not "its sounds good, my g/f likes it". What are you, 16??
Anyways... it appears that the sub/amp is rated at 90 or 95w. That's bout all I've found so far.

if you're a true audiophile, no factory system will please you, except MAYBE the mark levinson in lexus sc/ls430's.
I've been doing car audio/home audio for a while now, and have heard the audiophile system. it's very sluggish and muddy to my ears. bad imaging as well.

The audiphile system is a nice stock setup. It sounds cleaner than the standard setup, but not better than spending $500 and getting the items yourself. It comes with Ford components up front which are ok. I would say they sound as good as the low end entry level components from Pioneer, etc. The sub is ok at lower volumes, but if you have ever had a real sub, don't bother, it won't satisfy you. I am not sure of the output but I would say the sub amp puts out about 100 watts max. I think its a 8" paper sub. The Audiophile HU has a sound function that adjusts the balance to drivers seat, rear seats or all seats. Think of this as a low end time correction. The drivers seat setting is much much better than all seats and does help imaging. The HU also has a hookup for the entertainment package if you have one, which I do.
Ok big guy.... You obviously know very little about what you say. Something you should realize is that no matter how smart you think you are, or how much you think you know about something, there will ALWAYS be people out there that can put you to shame. Another thing you should learn is that most intelligent people can smell BS a mile away.
So, if you really had any knowledge of audio systems you'd know that the audiophile set up is, as many others have stated, decent for a factory system, but cannot compare to the better aftermarket setups.
That doesn't even make sense. I live with my girlfriend, thank you.

You must also believe that our library, containing over 3,400,000 volumes, must be going to waste since we're all to dumb to read?
I suppose we managed to get a Pulstar Thermonuclear Reactor placed on campus because of our ineptitude right?
I also guessing that the company that hired me right out of school for $60k + bonuses must think that my engineering degree isn't too shabby.
I could continue but I doubt it would be worth the effort....
So, where did you get your degree??

My apologies to the rest of you here, ignorance just irritates me!
