Will depend on the after market speakers you buy. But generally, yes, "almost" anything is better than factory. You may not appreciate the full benefit of good after market speakers with a factory head unit though.

Well you need to tell us if you plan on adding a head unit, amp or what if anything. If your not atleast planning on adding a head unit or amp then i wouldnt spend much on the speakers. If thats the case then just pick up some cheap pioneers at walmart or something. If your going to add a head unit but no amp, then look at the polk db's.

A set of after market speakers will sound better than stock. The problem is, the stock head unit dosen't have much power and distortion kills speakers. On the other hand, if you put a new head unit in, the stock speakers will sound a little better due to more clean power. But, since you want to keep the stock H.U. in your rig, just get some entry level after market speakers and you should be happy, don't spend $$$$$ on speakers if your not planning on running new head unit/amp in the future, not worth the cash.

If you like the aftermarket head unit look go for a new head unit and replace all stock speakers with some nice speaker with tweeters. Then if you want to go all out add an amp with a couple of subs. Sounds great; i had it in my 01' and am getting ready to hook it up in 04'. I personally dont like the aftermarket head unit look so i'll prolly just add amp, tweeters, and subs. Good luck and whatever you do(considering you do it right) will be better than stock.
