Routing Speaker Wire Through Doors

I have a new 2004 Super Crew and I am in the middle of installing a computer into it so it can play mp3s...dvds....blah blah blah. I am also putting new speakers and speaker wire into the vehcile. One problem I have ran into is that I cannot figure out how to get the new speaker wire through the door. The wire loom that connects the door to the frame is very tight and I have no idea how to loosen it up to allow me to route a new wire through it. If anyone could help, I would really appreciate it.

I hope I understand correctly. Straighten out a coat hanger and SLOWLY feed it through from the cab into the door. Tape your wires to the end and pull them through.

Actually, I did try that and it didn't work. If anyone has a 2004 or 2005 and try it, they will know what I am talking about.

I'd used a coat hanger to pull my speaker wires through, just make a small loop at one end and slowly guide the coat hanger from the kicker panel to the door. It's very tight so you have to slowly work at it just to get it through the rubber housing.

After several unsuccesful attempts with a coat hanger, I spent ~ $20 at home depot and bought an electricians snake. Worked like a champ.

A little baby powder on the wire and sprayed into the rubber boot makes the wires not stick together and easier to feed through.

The problem is that in the 2004 -2005 f150's all the wires go into a plug that plugs into the frame of the door. There are no holes for the new speaker wires to go through. Does anyone know how to get around this?

Thanks in advance.

Schillrw - did you ever figure out a way around this... I have the same problem. Here is a pic of the rubber boot for anyone that has not seen this

If anyone has found a way to run wires through that plug or some other way (sans, dilling a new hole) please let us know, as I will be doing some wiring here in the very near future.
