need opinions...please

I have a 2004 F-150 Screw and I have just replaced the factory unit with an Alpine CDA-9830 and I put Pold db 570's in the front doors and Alpine SPS-570A in the rear doors. (I also have an i-pod unit attached to new head unit) I want to make the sound a little more balanced by adding a sub. It does not have to rattle all the windows but I want it to compliment the existing sound. I also want to make sure that it is not visible, as in putting it under the driver side rear seat. Now here is the kicker, I would like to spend less than $200, actually I was thinking more about $150 and i am doing my own install. This may not be realistic but that is where I am at on this right now. Thanks for any input.

How good at woodworking are you? That is the only way I can see pullin it off. I'd try a single 10", a 2 channel amp, and cables/wires.

Here's a scenerio from bestbuy.com - only cuz it's easy for me to look up stuff here...

Sub 10" $40-120
amp (mid power) $80-200
wiring $30-70
box $70-100 DIY-- $30bucks in materials

Now, remember you get what you pay for in car audio... Don't go rock bottom, you'll regret it. But-you know this, you have good stuff already...

You'll have such better options if you can budget for $250 and up.

so so

I can usually do the typical do it yourself type jobs, if i have the plans laid out I won't have any problems. I was wondering if the bazooka subs with built-in amps are very good and worth the money? I also wonder if they will fit under the rear seat. Thanks for the help.

Those Bazookas may accomplish what you want for minimal effort, crutchfield's website has the dimensional specs.

The Infinity Basslink may also work well for you, if you shop around you can find them for closer to $200 or so, here it is at Crutchfield's website for $299:

jrip how's the sound of the 570's with the 9830? I got an 7894 Alpine deck in my car I'm planning on putting in the truck. I got 4 570's all around, just worried that the deck is rated at 4x60 using the internal amp or I think 18x4 without and the 570's are rated 40w RMS, I don't want to fry em

Sounds like my exact set-up...

Check the links in my signature... complete do-it-yourself guide to adding a sub, building the box... more for Sound Quality than rattle.

EDIT: Duuuuude... I just saw how old the thread starting post was... anyway, still good advice for a similar deal...

I didn't even realize how old it was, I was searching and when I saw 1-25 I thought cool that's pretty recent. Oh well, good to know I'll be ok to swap in the HU...I been away from the audio game too long and can't remember much of anything. Thanks guys.
