Should I replace my stock speakers?

My stock 2001 F150 King Ranch 4WD sounds pretty good. I'm getting ready to sell my 1991 Explorer which has 4 nearly new Clarion 6x8 composite speakers (seperate woofer and tweeter) - installed about two years ago.

Simple question - will I be improving the overall sound of my KR by switching out the stock speakers for the Clarion ones?

Not sure what Ford used in the King Ranch but as I said they sound pretty good.

Appreciate all replies.

Usually the installation of upgraded speakers will show all kinds of flaws in the HU. I started my project on my 2003 SCrew with "only replacing the speakers" only to find out that I couldn't get enough sound out of the stock HU and when I cranked it up to much, all I got was distortion. Usually the stock HU and speakers are a matched set, if you replace one, you'll generally have to replace the other (or atleast get a better amp and run line level from the stock HU to it).
