'04 F150 Supercab Subwoofer Box (New Body Style)

If anyone is interested, I found two custom subwoofer boxes for 2004 F150 Supercab @
www.soundoffaudio.com

They have a single subwoofer box for a single 8" or 10" and a box that can hold 2-8" or 2-10".

I am putting together a system right now. Any opinions?

Head Unit: Alpine CDA-9835 - $400
Satellite: Sirius Alpine Tuner (SIR-ALP1) - $100
External mp3 storage: Alpine Ipod controller (KCA-420i) - $100
Front Components: Focal 165 V2 - $250
Rear speakers: Focal 165 CV - $220
Amplifier: PPI DCX 800.5 - $479
Sub box Custom sub box - $100
Subs: 2-10" Audiobahn AW1006T - $500

That is a bangin system for ~$2200

Hey bud i'm also doing a system in my supercab and I got my box from mooseaudio 2 10s and it fits perfect under the rear seats (doesn't hang out) and has a sub mounting depth of 5 1/8. Great quality on the box and I am gonna modify it to fit 10w3v2s. I'll let you know how it turns out.

JL makes some nice stuff. I may change my AMP choice to the JL Audio 300-4. It fits nicely under the passenger rear seat. (I have to move my jack stand though)

The sub box I am looking at is restricted to a sealed enclosure of .55 cubic feet and a mounting depth of 5.25 inches. It is tough to find a decent 10" to fit. Do you know what the demensions of the mooseaudio box are?

Also, I am working with Cartoys. The first time I went in I bought the Alpine head unit for MSRP - $550. He told me that if I found it cheaper somewhere else that he would price match it. I went back in today and told him I found it for $400 at Onlinecarstereo.com he THEN tells me that they HAVE to be an authorized reseller in order for Cartoys to pricematch. I understand they have a lot of overhead and they will locally service the eqipment WHEN it goes out and provide a "blanket" warranty but I will end up spending $4000 instead of $2200. He said "be wary of online retailers because they may send you refurbished equipment and then not be in business in 6 months".

I have never purchased high-end stereo equipment online but I might consider it.

You are buying for Retail??? I can't believe you can't do better than that. i would shake his hand and tell him thanks and then head for the door. You didn't pay Sticker on your truck did you? Then why do it for the stuff inside?

If nothing else you can probably geta better deal through Crutchfield, they have been around for ever. Service has been excellent when I have dealt with them.

Ya here is a link to the box i purchased, great quality.
5-1/2 mounting depth... .635ft^3 per chamber.

As for subs that fit without modification i think the punch stage 1, MTX thunders...

The back seat has some room behind it. It will be pain in the rear to service the amp but I am working with what I got.

Good Question:

After doing some more research I found that there is no room to mount an amp if I use the 2-10" subbox. I went to my local car audio dealer and they said they just installed a dual 8" box that fit under the driver rear seat. I asked about sound and they said it hit harder than a single 10".

The Power Precision (PPI DCX 800.5) will not even come close to fitting anywhere.

So I will do dual 8" JL's on driver side and mount a JL 300/4 (fits perfect) under the passenger rear and move the jack.

So far I have purchased:

Head Unit: Alpine CDA-9835
Satellite: Sirius Alpine Tuner
Front Speakers: MB Quart QSD 216

Hey MMaris,

Did you get that box built yet for the 2 8" JL W0's.

I'm looking for something in that same set up for my 2005 Scab. Dupuis has something similar.

I would like to see pics and your thoughts on how it sounds.

Greeny.

You guys will enjoy those 8w0s. I ran a pair under the seat of my 97 SC in a prefabbed MTX Thunderform enclosure. I was driving them in a 2ohm configuration with an MTX 4250D mono amp. Managed 121.9 DBs which was pretty impressive for 8s.

Actually I am selling that enclosure since i've got an 05 Screw on the way.

If anybody wants it i have an MTX Thunderform loaded with 2 JL Audio 8W0s I'm willing to sell for a great price. Email me.
