answer to lightning's dreams
Just got my new May 04 stuff subscription in the mail today and was flipping threw the pgs. and saw Pioneer’s TS-SW124D. This speaker was made for big people like me that dont want to loose any leg room. THis speaker is only four inch height which is half of the smallest 12 out on the market. This thing was made for single cab trucks. Cant wait till it comes out in I think May of this yr.. Have any of yall guys heard of this speaker any reviews. I think the price is going to be $220 I think per speaker. Cant wait.:rocker: :beers: :rocker:

BP made a saucer sub along with some other companies. The sub I'd really like to try would be the ND-12 or any of the ND series subs by Illusion Audio. Also, keep in mind that the size of the sub does not mean a whole lot...look at box size. A brahma 10 fits in a pretty small box esp conciering the size of the sub (.5 cubes).

I've seen the saucer type subs the size of a d-cell battery. You still got the airspace problem to contend with, but you could make the box with alot less depth. I got a w3 v2 10 behind my seat no problem. It depends alot on how you make the box.

The Illusion ND12 has a mounting depth of 3.25". Phase Linear Aliante is about the same. DEI has a couple Illusion knock offs. This is just to name a few. Shallow subs are nothing new to the market.

Ya i got 2 JL Audio w6 10s (old version) behind my seats in the L and the seats still go all the way back, no loss of leg room. And a question for the 4" deep subs, how well they preform? good spl?

Too bad you have to trade all 4 tires of a Phase Linear Aliante :(
Although, the Brahma is my favorite sub anyways. Could be why I own one. ;) |
