Question Big Bend National Park (Texas)

Hello,

My family and I are planning a trip to Big Bend National Park down in south Texas. I was wondering if any of the RVers here have been to Big Bend and if so which RV park they used.

There is very limited full hook camping in the park. However, I have found three RV parks just outside the park with full hookups:
1. Big Bend Motor Inn - http://www.bigbendmotorinntx.com/
2. Terlingua Ranch - http://www.terlinguaranch.com/
3. Lajitas Resort - http://www.lajitas.com/

Lajitas resort has no info on their web page about RV accommodations but an email back from them confirms that they do have full hookup accommodations for rigs up to 50 feet.

So has anyone been to any of these places? Any advice?

Thanks,
Chris

My favorite place is in the Ft. Davis mountains. I'm not sure of the name, but you should check it out as well.

Hi Chris,

I've been out that way (usually thanksgiving week) a lot but never to RV so I don't have much to add other then I had family turned away from the Lajitas RV grounds since they weren't a large Class A or something like that, not sure of details. I've not sure what you have but you may want to confirm what types of RV's they allow.

The only advice I have, is DO NOT swim in the Rio Grande unless you boil the water first.
