Hey All,

As I posted in the closed thread thread (thread squared?)...

While I sincerely appreciate the gesture, the reasons contributions will not work (other than my ethical reasons) is because this site has far surpassed a trivial monthly cost that could be covered by personal contributions.

Our server "rent" now exceeds $1500 per month because of the bandwidth and memory required for this site (see thread in Site Announcements). Our next hardware jump would likely add $500 to $750 per month to that cost (most likely a dedicated server for the database) and there would still be no guarantee that the problem would be fixed.

FYI, the advertisers, supporting vendors and online store do cover this amount every month...enough to keep the site running, but there's not enough extra for me to even cover a car payment. Ok, well maybe the payment on a Hyundai, but that's about it.

(For all those that think I am getting rich from operating this site and ignorantly that feel all of our rules and requests are based on lining my pockets with spoils, take note of the economics of running this site. If you don't believe me, just ask my Wife.)

I know a lot of sites that have done this. Basically set up a paypal account so people can pay with there credit card. Add Community supporter under there name, and let them donate $5 to whatever they want to help out. I know of quite a few sites that have recived $1000 donation to help, and many $5 ones.

It may not be a ton but if you had 1000 people toss in $5 bucks each that would pay 3 months bandwith, or some nice upgrades.

Maybe let the users post a little pic next to there name or something gimicy like that.

Yes. The info I've gotten here is worth much more than that, IMO.

Where do I send the check?
