Dammit, my new truck is here!!!
Dammit, my new truck is here!!!
Order was placed third week of January.
Truck was built on Valentine's Day.
Truck was delivered today - 8 days after the build.
It's at the dealer now, in the falling snow. My salesman called me today to let me know.
But why "Dammit," you ask?
We were banking on 6-8 weeks from order to delivery. Even delayed placing the order. 4 weeks later it's 4 miles from me.
My current lease isn't up for 2 more months.
I need to do some serious financial finagling. Any ideas?

If you're purchasing the new one, you can build the last two payments into the new loan.
(Do you have two more payments or is your lease matured in two months? That would mean that you only have one payment left.)

You can easily end your old lease early, heck my last lease i ended 2 1/2 years early to get into my truck. My dealer told me than anytime after 2 years of your lease you can switch to a newer vehicle without any trouble from Ford Credit.
Just go in and mention what you have been told here and you wont have any problems.

P.S. Congrats on the new ride by the way.

I traded in my 3 year lease on my 2002 cougar for my new truck when i still had like 7 months left. No questions asked and i still got a lot of trade equity from it. I don't think the'll care to much if you've only got one or two payments left.
are you going from a lease to a lease or lease to buying......either way if the dealer is good it shouldn't be a problem....i had an chevy s-10 that i leased awhile back....and didnt like....got out of my lease to purchase something else....its all in who you know and how good the dealership is
going from lease to buy
no dice from the finance company (Ford Credit).
They said they never do that, unless it's an earlybird special that Ford is offering.
They also said I should talk to the dealer (who told me to call Ford Credit) to see if there's anything they can do.
My truck only has 17,700 miles on it.
Anybody wanna buy it? '03 FX4 Supercrew 5.4?

when we ordered the 04, we had it timed to be delivered when the lease on our previous vehicle expired.
Dealer didn't tell me about the trucks arrival until just days before we were to pick it up (at my insistence) After all, I didnt want to be were you are... knowing your new baby is sitting there, all cold and lonely crying out your name.
It can sit there for 8 weeks... I just dont want to know about it or I will want it right then.

I am going to have to agree with 1 Krazy Kanuck, I also live in Canada and have always traded in early. This is my 4th Ford and I still had 9 months left on the last 1 when I leased this truck. I wasn't even looking for a new truck. I was just in getting a service when I seen this 1 on the lot and liked it. Must be different from state to state and country to country.
Should be a no-brainer. Tell your dealer to take your lease now or you won't purchase the truck. Unless they gave you a stellar below-cost deal, they'll eat the two payments to make the sale.
