What do you guys consider high mileage? My 2002 Supercrew 5.4L auto trans has 389K miles on the original power train . I have maintained the truck well since new. It’s been really reliable. I’ve only replaced the intake manifold, alternator and right rear axle shaft seals. Recently, at 382K I rebuilt the front suspension, everything else is original. This week it developed an issue with the #3 ignition coil circuit. What’s the most miles seen on these trucks and power trains?

LOTS of vehicles going down the road with 1,000,000 miles on the clock. You can thank our clean burning fuels that just don't make the deposits like the old gas and dramatic advances in motor oil technologies. At one time, there were numerous mules coming in the shop that had lube for life motor oil systems. The oil filters were big by comparison and had flow release additives to replenish the oil. The reason for this.....the auto makers are considering making vehicles with no hood to keep shade tree mechanics from modifying systems. This has been suggested at the Federal level.
