Plenum coolant bypass

I'm pulling my plenum and intake for new gaskets, injectors, FP regulator, etc., and discovered the pipe coming out of the top of the water pump is shot (the one with the nipples for water to flow through the plenum). I found one on RockAuto without the nipples, which is fine because I was thinking of bypassing those lines anyway. So... what should I do with the two plastic nipples on the back passenger side of the plenum? (They are part of a plastic "plug" that contains the PCV vac port).

I'm guessing just put vac caps over them?

EDIT:

On a related note, is the Fel-Pro MS95985 gasket (alternate/OEM number MS16230) the updated, 4mm thick one? I can't find any specifications on it, but it is supposed to be "from 1/15/98".

It sounds like you're on your own with this problem. Why don't you let us know what solution you come up with?

You also might get better help if you stop opening new threads for each issue you are having with the same repair job. Right now, there is virtually no continuity.

With hundreds of views and no replies, figured it couldn't hurt. And they are somewhat separate questions that would make future searches easier, rather than all being in one thread.

But, point taken.

After 21 years, a person new to Ford F150's is the only one to ever ask if these are the right intake gaskets for a known issue, and to ask about bypassing the odd PCV heater (apparently it's a 1999 system on my 1998 truck.

Ok.
