Question How to check OEM catalitic converter performance

Hi Folks! My truck is at about 175,000 miles. The mechanic told me to check if catalytic converters are fine because he "see" may be clogged because of the catalytic coloration. I feel the truck not as peppy as before maybe he is right and it's time to change the CC.

The computer doesn't show a CC failure/code yet. It only shows a P2097 Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System too Rich Bank 1.
Corrosion or Incorrect harness Connections
Exhaust leak
Contaminated HO2S

I also got a P0297 Over Speed Condition but I think it's not related

How may I know if the problem it's the CC or O2 Sensor?

Thanks!

I would do two things. An exhaust back pressure test. Replace all o2 sensors. If they haven't been changed, they are way past due.

I replace them in all my vehicles at around 60-80k miles. Since they are consumable items that do wear out.

A good scanner can tell you both.
