Question 04-08 Tail Light Q?

I have a thread in the light forum, but this Q? is for 04-08 F-150 owners only.
In the pic below (which is not my light, but an 04-08 light) where the white arrow is pointing, my light protrudes out about a 1/4", maybe a little less. I have tried to push it in more after loosening the screws, but to no avail. Can you fine members, with the same year trucks as stated before (04-08), go check your drivers side tail light and see if it protrudes out any at all? The passenger side is flush with the bed.
THANK YOU very much!

My 07 Flareside's lights fit well enough but they are different.

Thanks MF150.
There is an 05 F-150 around the corner from me that I checked. The edge protrudes about the same as mine. That's why I was asking others to check theirs as well, so I know that it's not just mine.

Yes it sure does -- I just went out to my truck and double checked.

I knew it, only because of how many times I've gotten wax shoved in there... but I figured I'd at least double check.

As I figured, it must be an 04-08 drivers side tail light flaw.
In my other post in Lighting forum, Fifty150 stated that my truck might not be straight. If that's the case, yours is not straight, as well as the 05 near my house.

I found a pic of my truck from 2015. The drivers side tail light DEFINITELY protrudes out a little bit. Enlarge the pic to see it.

Maybe it is a way to tell the difference between a fake F150 and a real F150... lol

I looked up the factory tail light parts on a few Ford auto parts websites. Every site shows the drivers sie tail light more expensive then the passengers side. The increase is anywhere from $1.50 to $2.25 more. I don't get it.
Maybe the increase is to distinguish the difference in the 2, making it stick out.

Or the manufacturer is different. You'd think the left and right would be made in the same factory OR the same company at least.

Weird...

While at wound care this AM at Bunkie General Hospital, I was able to get within 10-12' of 2 of their 04-08 F-150's. As they were driving by me, I noticed that both trucks' drivers side tail lights were NOT flush with the body. I was too embarrassed to take any pics. That would have been uncomfortable trying to explain why I was taking pics. BTW, they were both STX models.
Just think, with me tracking down all of these 04-08 F-150's, if I ever need another tail light.....................

Sorry for the late response. I wanted to wait until more photos were posted.

I believe your truck is fine, normal, and does not have a problem.

The lamp housing has a beveled edge, which sits flush with the body line. Then the lens rises away from the body line. Are you concerned about the beveled edge? Or is the part which is suppose to sit flush, also pushing out and away from the body? If the edge of the lens is not straight inline with the body, then you have fitment issue.
