1999 F150 power point limits

Hi all, I have a '99 F150 XLT, 5.4, V8...just got a charger for my phone, and the power point appears to be working. Since it is an older vehicle, and I don't have an owners manual, what are the limits of the power point? The charger I bought is a Belkin 4.8 amp from Wal-Mart. Should that be ok, as well as one of those 12v fans? But not anything like a tablet or laptop?

New to all this so be kind

The signature he's referring to is the text below his post.

It's the first line of text below the sentence you quoted.

Yeah there is no signature

I didn't ask for a manual, as the ones I have seen online aren't very specific.

If anyone out there has a '99 and can tell me what range please do....

That link is the owners manual from Ford for your specific vehicle not a generic.

The lighter and OBD-II port share a 20 amp fuse. I personally wouldn't pull more than 10 amps from the lighter.

My 2003 has a lighter socket and a power point side by side, and I've run a laptop, phone charger, and a portable XM radio off mine simultaneously using splitters.

Good point glc I forgot the power point was wired separate from the lighter. I haven't opened the door that covers the lighter/pp in over 10 years in either of my F150's. The power point is capable of 25 amps on its own.

Highly unlikely. Check the correct fuse value for the absolute maximum power draw.
