I have a 98 f150 4.6l auto. (no pats) i turn the key to on and all eletrical works. It will not even attemt to turn over though. Ive ran few a list of things to check. I have 12 volts at the fuse box (number 21) when i try to start the truck. I checked for 12 volts at the dtr sensor (dark blue and orange wire) i have nothing. I can start the truck at the starter realay (on fire wall) when i start it like that the speedo wont register, the over drive light flashes and the truck wont shift out of first. Can anyone help me!?

 

What feeds power to the DTR dark blu/orange input?
It comes through the jumper option for auto trans.
The schematic shows the manual and auto options.
You have to follow the (auto trans wire option) since there is no clutch hardware and assume no RAP module.
Looks like your not following the leads correctly for testing in addition to the fault that may be present.
The schematic is clear and easy to follow.
Be sure to test in either Park or Neutral because the circuit is open in any of the gear positions, by design.
