What time (typically) does the factory stop taking new orders for the current model year F-150s and switch over production to next year's model? Just curious because I'm getting ready to order a new F-150 within the next couple of months. I realize this can very year to year, just was looking for an approximate date.

My FT-8800R is working great, never has given me any problems. I use it for 2m and 70cm amateur communications as well as scanning some public service frequencies. The ONLY thing that I don't like about the 8800 is that when I scan AM aviation band frequencies, those transmissions are so loud that they will almost blow you out of the truck. I also have an FT-8000R that works great too. It was the first mobile transceiver that I bought when I was first licensed in the mid 1990's.

Awesome to hear this. I've been looking for a 2m/70cm. But I'm thinking of going for a Fusion rig. I got a FT-2800M I bought over 10 years ago when I got my ticket too, and it works perfectly in my truck. Have a good one!!
