2010 F150 protect mode

good afternoon everyone , I have a 2010 f 150 with 5.4 that keeps going into protect mode and is not tripping any codes. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome.

What do you mean by "protect" mode? Do you mean the engine failsafe?

If so, you might want to double check the coolant.

ManualF150A wrench appears on the display and it flashes back and forth with the traction control symbol the speedometer goes to zero,the gear indicator goes blank ,the transmission temperature gauge goes to zero and the truck locks in second gear. It’s weird it seems to only do this when it’s below 15 degrees out. It fully resets it self when you shut the truck off

OK. That explains a lot. Thank you.

That appears to be transmission related.

There is going to be a code if it's read by a Ford shop. Please go to a dealer and have that checked.

I don't think it's transmission related. It's an electrical issue of some sort though.
