Tow capacity

I have a 1999 F-150 six cylinder, extended (not crew) cab w/6-1/2' bed. It has no special tow package that I'm aware of (I'm not the original owner). Don't know final axle ratio, but it also has only 16" wheels. What is the maximum combined tow weight (trailer and trailer payload)? Thank you.

Manual or automatic transmission? 2wd or 4wd? Need the axle ratio, look at the AXLE code on the door jamb sticker.

2wd XL, automatic, door jam sticker reads "27" below AXLE (and "UTC" beneath that, if relevant). Also offers 6000# as GVWR. Thank you.

You have 3.31 gears. Maximum tow rating is 4500# and GCWR (truck and trailer) is 9000#. Requires a towing package. If it doesn't have a Class III receiver hitch you need to get one, don't try towing with a ball on the bumper.
