The truck will turn over and eventually will start after cranking for an extended period. But if I stop and turn key off and try agiain it will start right up. Any help would be appreciated.

Connect a fuel pressure gauge to the test port on the fuel rail, turn the key on. When the pump primes, you should see about 40 psi. If that's good, try starting it with your foot down just a bit on the pedal. If it starts, you have a sticky or defective IAC valve. If that doesn't work, try flooring it. If it starts, it was flooded and you probably have leaky fuel injectors.
