My old 1997 F150 is back home again
Back in 1997 I bought a new F150 4x4 super cab. I kept it for three years and then sold it to my brother-in-law. My wife wanted something that was easier to drive, so in 2000 I bought a Ranger 4x4.
My brother-in-law kept the truck for a decade and then sold it to his daughter and son-in-law. A couple of months ago they decided to replace the truck, now with 206,000 miles, with a new vehicle.
Coincidentally, I was looking for a cheap, used truck and told them I was interested in buying their truck. When I asked how much they wanted they said, "Nothing, just come and get it".
So, for the second time I'm the owner of the same 1997 F150.
Considering that the truck has been up to Alaska and the Yukon three times, has spent most of its life parked outside, and has over 200,000 miles on the odometer, it is in great shape. The body and underside is pretty-well rust free.
I'm really enjoying driving my old F150 again.
