F150 no crank

Hey guys. So my 97 is running for the moment. A he'll of a lot better since replaced plugs and wires. All but the two I couldn't get out. I also fixed the elbow that was missing. Anyway, Its probably something I did,but you never know with these fords. Haha. Anyway. Truck only starts with key on and if i bridge the starter solenoid posts. Does not start with igniton and when I try all the lights shut off and door locks move up and down. I can hear one little click coming from the dash. I also ran these codes.

PO750 shift solenoid A
PO755 shift solenoid B
PO708 Transmission Range Sensor A Circuit High
PO743 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Electrical

Also my OD light is blinking on shifter which Im pretty sure has something to do with the codes that are showing. Let me know what you guys think.

Does it do the same thing when trying to start in Neutral and Park?

The transmission range sensor is also the neutral safety switch. Probably needs replacing, if that fixes the no-start issue clear the codes and see if they come back.

I've already tried moving the shifter when turning the key with no luck. Also when I took the battery charger off the battery instantly died. So either I'm drawing power from somewhere or the battery needs replacing. Everything worked fine before I changed the plugs and wires. Why I was thinking it might of been something I did when putting everything back together.

Pull the battery, charge it, then take it to a parts store to be load tested.

Your TRS is bad or one of the wires to it is bad.

Alright, I'll do that. Just wondering what is TRS? Transmission relay?

I would also test the alternator for proper output.

Get the battery/charging system issue resolved FIRST. With no source of power, nothing else will work properly which is likely what is going on.

So I might have found my problem. I noticed my g101 ground location on the firewall next to the start relay the whole stud and connections are loose. I looked it up and everyone is saying thats a pcm ground? Maybe something to do with my codes and o/d light flashing, along with my no crank by the ignition. Let me know what you guys think.

The ground needs to be fixed but it does not explain or account, by itself, for the other symptoms you described.

Did you do ANYTHING that was recommended?

I tested my battery, it is fine. As for anything else, I really can't check anything until I figure out my power problem. If my pcm isn't getting grounded, wouldnt throw my system out of wack? Everytime I tried to start the truck a week and a half ago, it did one click, all lights went out in the cab and my power locks started going haywire. When starting the truck, I used a screwdriver on the starter relay while the truck was hooked up with a battery charger. While it was running, that's when my OD light was flashing, and my obd scanner picked up the codes, but again, wouldn' it throw the wrong codes if it was badly grounded like that?

Sometime, you need to go back and replace those two spark plugs you couldn't get out.

Clean the battery cables at both ends.

Yes, I know. I'm having the shop do that when I can come up with the money. I Already cleaned the positive and negative wires as they were corroded. Also changed battery ends to new ones.

The PCM doesn't have anything to do with whether the starter will crank or not, it simply is not part of the starter circuit on a 97.

Your symptom is of a bad battery, battery connection or a bad battery cable which could be on either the positive or the ground side of the circuit.

Do start with cleaning the battery terminals as suggested, it's a common occurrence. After that, if necessary, use voltage drop testing (Google it) to identify the bad portion of the circuit.

The spark plugs can wait until you get the starting issue resolved.
