Requesting 2013 FX2 Towing Advice
I'm considering purchasing an 8.5 x 20 enclosed car hauling trailer. I would be towing with a 2013F150 FX2 5.0
Trailer weighs 3200 lbs
Car weighs 3200 lbs
GVWR:7000 lbs
Will my F150 handle this type of trailer/load OK or do I really need a bigger truck?
Thanks,
Larry

What
you don't need a weight distribution hitch, just properly place the car in the trailer to get the proper amount of tounge weight. Too little you get sway, too much and your steering will be loose. Takes a little experience but you'll figure it out. I tow same weight with a 2000 f-150 5.4l

F150 FX2 with 5.0 has towing package with brake controller and anti-sway. I am also going to pick up a Curt 17501 Weight Distribution hitch with load leveling and anti-sway.

Curt 17501 Weight Distribution Hitch, Trunnion, 1,000 lbs. Tongue Weight, 10,000 lbs. Gross Trailer Weight
I appreciate all the information from y'all. I feel better about this.

Good for you. That doesn't mean we should recommend that others do the same when it's clearly an overload. There's a reason hitches have max weight ratings with and without WD.
To the OP: Check etrailer.com for possibly a better price.
