2003F150V8 AC Problems-Can Anyone Help?

I have a 2003 F150 Crew Cab. I recharged coolant little over 1 year ago, it was "ok" not great. I did again approx. 3-4 weeks ago & it was really great (a lot colder than previous) but 2 days ago, the clutch plate stopped engaging & is now blowing hot air. I had the wife cycle the MAXAC on & off but nada! I took a metal rod & rotated clutch plate (while running) it rotates freely & belt is turning behind the plate with no noise. I've read a couple suggestions from others regarding jumpers & voltage checks (I will trying all when the truck comes in tonight). Can someone list in detail the best way to check components & in what order with nominal readings? Arizona is NO PLACE to be without AC!! Thanks

It probably has a serous leak. The compressor wont' run if the refrigerant is too low. check the pressures with a gauge. If you don't have access to a gauge set, you can buy a recharge kit that includes a low pressure gauge. If you charge it with a can of refrigerant that contains dye, it will help identify where the leak is.
