Yes it will fit.
You will need to get the computer to run that trans also.

That's a good deal. I would jump on it. Not sure what install would be since it would be going from a 4.2 to 4.6 which involves a bit more work. If I were to guess, if you find a shop that has the knowledge to do so, for it to be around 1400-1600. Got the means to do it yourself? I would. You and a friend could do it in a few days time.

Yeah,,it will work just like the 4.6.
There's a guy on here that put a Lightning motor and trans in his truck that had a V6 to start with.

why would you pay $500 and up to a weeks downtime for an engine that only get ~30 hp more than yours?

if you had a dead 4.2L, i could see this as practical, but if it aint broke, why fix it?

what is the difference with the 5.4 and 4.6 motors? arent they the same except the 5.4 has a longer stroke?

No,
the 5.4 is wider.
That's the mane reason you cant swap intake manifold between the two.

I'm not sure if the 4.2 and 4.6 trannys are the same or even if they have the same bell-housing or not.
The 4.6 he was talking about had a tranny with it.
Now hes thinking about a 5.4...lol
