Pcv valve?

Pcv valve?
Does anyone know if the 07 5.4L 3V engine has a pcv valve? Doing routine maintenace and cant seem to locate it.

It's located on the driver side valve cover towards the front, follow the hose that sits above your dipstick towards it.......

It's in the intake manifold. Follow the hose from the front of the driver's valve cover to the intake manifold, you'll run right into it.

It's electronically heated and monitored. Replace it at 100K miles.

What is that hose comming out of the drivers side valve cover for?.......

That's where crankcase gases are sucked into the intake for burning.

Hey...I'm bringing this thread up again because I need help with a part # for the pcv valve and hose on the 5.4 3v...my truck is coming up on 100,000 miles, but I can't find a part # at Rock Auto, Autozone, Advance Auto or Tasca Ford. Can anyone help me out? Is it true that you have to buy an entire driver's side valve cover assembly?

Any help you guys could give me would be great!

Removal and Installation

Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section 414-01 .
Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) heater element tube quick-release fitting.

Remove the bolts and the PCV heater element. Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Install a new O-ring seal on the PCV heater element. Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
The 5.4l 3v has an integral PCV valve in the intake manifold... so there is really no "PCV Valve" you can buy.

I read those parts to the parts guy and he said they don't match the 5.4l? ...and you "have" to puchase the manifold cover to replace it. ...oh sorry, I have an '04 5.4l. Is it possible to do the same for my '04, or do I have to fork out $150 for the valve cover?

The only one that matched was the snap connector hose but I had to get the pre and post numbers/letters to match it exactly. I hope the hose resolves the P0171&4 codes.

I found another thread that mentioned the elbow hose but that is for the 4.6l.

I don't have the manual but can some that does tell me if it shows how to disassemble the PCV parts so it would be cheaper then buting the valve cover?

The PCV valve on the 5.4 is located in the intake manifold on the drivers side, behind and just below the throttle body. The only thing that connects to the valve cover is the PCV hose. The valve is heated and held in by two bolts and really only requires replacement if the heating element burns out. It's designed to not need regular service or replacement.
