the third-generation 2003

that sorta bugs me that they refer to it as the 3rd generation with not really so much new to it at all.

perhaps they think gen 1's were the 93-96 lightnings? gen2's 99-00, and gen 3's 01-current? they did say it was the 8th year of production

maybe thats right,, but all the tuners/ dealerships/ etc,, classify the first group till 96 gen 1's,, then 99-02 gen 2's. Who knows,, maybe just a poor term to use in the article.

actually,, i said till 96, if you want to be technical,, but you are right, I haven't looked up to much info at all on the gen 1's so i'm guilty of being oblivious,,, wasn't really the point of the post though, although its a lightning, if they want to call it a gen 3, then I'm not so impressed,,, that is unless they refer to the 99/00 as gen 2 or something like that

Wow, the payload goes up bigtime to 1400 lbs. Is that via stronger leaf springs. I'd like to get them if that's all there is to it. I haul wood to burn a lot for my sister and would love the greater capacity.

2003 SVT F-150 LIGHTNING CHARGES AHEAD AS ?WORLD'S FASTEST PRODUCTION PICKUP TRUCK?

I never race my truck, just occasionally drive it 1320 ft to make sure it is still fast and lives up to this claim. That is why I bought it.
