Whats faster 99/00L or 01/02 L (stock)?

As I read all these posts and look at the stock times that are posted I see 99/00 that are faster or as fast the 01/02 assuming that they did not change the 02. Didn't the additional 20 horsepower and the 3.73 gear make a difference?. I realize the track ,weather and driver all come into play. But I still thought there would be more of a difference. I know jl ran a 13.3 with only 6 miles on the truck but that seems to be rare, the norm seems to be 13.50 to 13.80 for all years. Am I missing something or do 20 hp and the rear not make that much difference.

Vinnie - the 01's and 02's are faster because they have increased the MAF by 10mm...and gained 20hp more...

But now if you are wondering about colors...Blue is the fastest and hottest because if you have done any science studies you would know that when looking at a flame, the blue is the hottest part

Wantalight - I realize the 01 has 20 more hp and should be faster, that is why I do not understand. I purposely waited for the 01 because of all the upgrades.

The 01/02's are faster than the 99/00's stock for stock. This becuase of the additional 20HP and the 3.73 gears.

Vinnie:

It's not only the weather that will affect the times you see but as important(if not more important) is the track. You will see the best times at Cecil(unless there's another one I am unaware of)! Steele, Alabama(ask cablebandit) has great traction/prep as does Jackson, South Carolina(ask CornerCarver ). And, of course, the driver makes a big difference(ask CornerCarver--I think he 'deep' stages by about 2 feet!).

All things being equal, the 01 and 02s-stock-for-stock should/would beat the 99/00s--no flame--please. Don't worry, yours will be fine.

Wantalight: Blue may be the 'hottest' but nothin' beats a Silver bullit!

WHOES FASTEST

I OWN A 2000 L. AND MY BROTHER HAS A 1999 L. AND WE LINED UP WITH A GUY FROM WORK WHO HAS A 2001 L. ALL WERE STOCK AND WE ALL RAN NECK AND NECK HE GOT THE JUMP OFF THE LINE BUT WE WERE ALL EVEN UNTIL ABOUT 115 WHEN HE STARTED TO FALL BACK. BUT OTHER THAN THAT IT SEEMED LIKE THEY ALL RAN ABOUT THE SAME! LIGHTNINGS ARE ALL BAD A$$ SO IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT YEAR OR COLOR SO IF YOU GET BEAT OR THINK IT IS TO SLOW SPEND SOME MORE $$$ AND BUY SOME MODS AND MAKE IT FASTER FOR THE NEXT TIME, AND IF YOU DONT LIKE THE COLOR JUST PAINT IT OR TRADE IT IN. JUST REMEMBER THERE ISNT VERY MANY CARS OR TRUCKS OUT THERE THAT CAN TOUCH ANY YEAR LIGHTNING OR COLOR !!!!!!!!!

GOOD LUCK AND KEEP THE F1' S A SPINNING!!!!!!
