What brand and model controller, and exactly how did you install it?

What year and model vehicle, and exactly which fuse blows?

"Used" doesn't tell me the brand and model.

If you went directly to the wires, I'd bet you have it miswired. You should use an adapter that plugs into the socket under the dash.

I asked the guy he just told me it came out of a Dodge it was dealer put in and he took it out to put new "better" one in....it doesn't have a name or model on it and as for plug adapter I have one on order but it won't be in till next week and need brake controller for a trailer that I'm renting and they require me to have one I wired it up according to color of wire but there is a green wire under the dash but only a white one on the controller ie no green on controller and no white under the dash

You going to trust a used no-name brake controller? Buy a new one with the right adapter. They aren't that expensive. This one is top of the line:

If you just want something cheap to stay legal:

Don't put a larger fuse in... All you will do is burn your truck down...

They make a plug and play harness like GLC points out, but since you've now hacked the wiring, who knows??

Good luck!
