97 F150 need help 4.2l V6

Hi all. I am having a issue with my truck running super ruff. I have had a issue recently with it jumping while accelerating. I figured I'd throw a new coil pack on. I have tried two new coil packs. The first replacement would not even run. The second runs but like hell. It is misfiring and shaky. If I put back on the original coil pack it runs perfect. I have replace the wires in the correct firing order and traced them down to make sure.

No matter what I do it runs like hell on the new coil packs but good on old. Any ideas? I'm all out.

How old and what brand are the plugs and wires? What brand coil pack are you using?

The wire pattern is the same as pictured. The plugs were changed today and are motorcraft, the wires were also changed today and not sure on brand at the moment. The first coil was BWD, the second is duralast. I just put the old one back on for now.

I may have solved the problem. My truck is a 1997and it suggests a Motorcraft DG-533. I finally thought about it and took the Motorcraft part number off the original coil = F5SU-12029-AA. When I search that part number I come back with a Motrcraft DG-535. I am told this doesn't fit my truck. However this is what works on the truck. My thinking is the motor was swapped with a 1999 motor. I searched it saying my truck was a 99 model and the DG-535 coil shows to fit. That is what is on the truck. So I ordered one and it will be here Tuesday. Hopefully I am right.
