Cons: Sound like crap. Have a tendency to stick. Very high schoolish. Will not sound near as good as a decent exhaust setup.

Pros: Ya, I got nothing.

i had a set of manual wing nut style just cheap 20 dollar jegs one. i had them on my truck for a year they rusted really fast but never leaked.

E-cut out are PRICY anything 304 stainless should be good because it wont rust. also look at reviews to make sure they are sealing back up.

Pros: you can flick a switch and have open headers you can be heard from miles away.

Con: you can get a 500 dollar ticket.

Dude no one cares that you think a muffler free exhaust system sounds terrible. I don't think he would be looking at getting them if he didnt like the sound. I'm not trying to be an *** but....it gets old hearing you trash something A LOT of people love.

And to OP as long as you get stainless you are good. If you want electric summit makes a good product ive heard and QTP makes the best, again from what I have heard.

That was my honest opinion, in which I am entitled to. If you don't like hearing it, then don't read it.

checkout quick time performance. i ran their electric cut out on my 1990 bronco, just ordered one for my 2005 f150 and ordered a pair for my wife's 2011. The bronco didnt sound to bad it had a single 3 in and was fun to hear going through the mud with no muffler. i never had the cutout on my bronco stick until i stuffed it full of mud. It lasted me 6 months. the cutouts should last longer on a street driven truck. the single 3" with the everything ran me 230 shipped.

I have heard nothing but bad things about electric cutouts, mainly claims that after maybe only a year they start leaking. I love my cutouts, they sound monstrous, a lot is due to my longtubes but anyway... I say do manual cutouts, bought my Stainless steel ones from summitracing and takes me maybe a minute and a half to take off or put on(Rmbr I have two sets since my truck is true dual). Plus the only way the manual ones leak is if the gasket gets messed up for some reason, which a gasket is way cheaper to replace than an electric cutout!

Hope this helps some...

A full straight pipe exhaust is going to sound alot different than a set of cut-outs.
