So you got the type 1s? I have the type 2s that don't alternate the white/amber. Looks great though!

so, the easiest way to split the headlights apart is to bake them for about 10 minutes at 200 degrees so the RTV/glue/stuff starts to get gooey and you can separate them?


how is everyone sealing them back up again? RTV? some sort of adhesive?

Did you have to take the headlights apart to get these in? I love this idea. As long as I don't have to operate on my lights, I will buy them today.

If you have small hands no problem, if you have big mitts like I do I use extra long needle nose pliers to plug/unplug the socket into the back of the headlights, so NO, no need to take anything apart, just unplug the bulb socket, snap the new leds in and replug the bulb socket back into the housing.

Nice! I just saw where someone was talking about taking the lights apart. I have to take mine out anyway so I am buying these tonight! Thanks for the quick response. My wife wishes you had not responded at all. lol

Beat me to it.

Yep just use some waterproof RTV to glue them back together. Make sure you get em good too so they dont leak.
