How are the tips holding up months later? Have you had to touch them up?

They are holding up pretty good. I would give them a B+... I think with a little more prep work on my part, they could have easily been an A.

The SS rolled ends were starting to show through from multiple washes, but a quick shot of the high heat paint cleaned them up nicely. The long sides still look good and I painted up a little further on the tubing to give it a more even look under the truck. (Sorry, no pics...)

Do you think the paint would hold up if the tips were 45ed?

I think you will get more rocks hitting on the bottom side of your tips if they are 45'ed. I have not noticed any rock chips on mine, but they go straight out the back.

Not only rocks, but more dirt and whatever other crap is thrown off the tires. When I redid my exhaust I changed from 45d tips to straight out the back, and the amount I have to clean my tips has dropped immensely. Haven't had to repaint them yet as opposed to repainting my 45d tips several times.

What kind of prep work do you need to do to accomplish this mod?
