4WD Locking hub Rim question...

My truck is equipped with the Manual and or auto swtich hub. Does this feature make buying rims impossible or does it not matter? Thanks.

The center caps on the front rims will just be a tube without an end on it...

Ha...I never ran centercaps on my F150 so I dunno if I would do it on this truck. By the way...how much do 37's screw up fuel economy and power on the new 6.4's?

I would probably run centers too If I had chrome or polished wheels, really depends on the wheel and the theme going on with rest of the truck, though. With my powdercoated black wheels I just keep the hubs painted black and it looks good to me.

From what I've heard, the 6.4s are getting pretty crummy mileage to begin with. 37's definately won't help. I get an average of 11 with my 37x13.50's with my 7.3 and 3.7 gears.

What's manual and or auto switch hubs? Isn't it either manual or automatic locking hubs, or is this some new feature?

The Super Duty's have both...the switch on the dash for automatic switching, and the manual locking hubs, which are in the center of the front wheels. If you lock them manually, this overrides the switch on the dash and the truck will be in 4wd. If the manual hubs are unlocked, then the switch on the dash controls the 4wd.

That's cool I guess, but wouldn't most people just leave the hubs unlocked and then use the switch? I can see it's usefullness if your electrics get screwed up, but who wants to get out and manually lock their hubs anymore?
