iTunes help, copying songs to CD
Hey all.
We got internet radio almost a year ago. It's awsome! Thing is there is a bunch of music that I'd like to have in my own collection. I've got tons of information on the songs, groups and labels but not much on where to buy. A lot of the stuff I've been into lately originates across the pond. A lot of the albums aren't readily avaliable to me.
So, I've downloaded iTunes. I searched a couple of the songs that I want and they actually have them. I don't have an iPod. I just want to copy songs to CD so that I can play them in the vehicles and bring them to friends. I've looked on the iTunes site and can't find a difinitive answer on wether or not I can do this. Maybe I'm a little slow, but I just can't find where it says that I can pay a dollar for a song so that I can copy it to a CD.
Can someone who has experiance with this stuff help me out? There are tons of songs that I would like to be able to listen to, when I want to hear them.
Thanks!

OK wittom, here's the deal.
When you buy a song from Apple, it is encoded with some kind of protection do-dad (that's technical talk, just ignore it) so that you are limited as to where you can copy it to such as on your computer and your iPod. What they don't want you to do is copy the FILE to other computers thereby causing a massive chain reaction of copying/pirating that will cause the downfall of civilization as we know it.
HOWEVER . . . notice how the word FILE is in bold in the above paragraph?!?!?! I did that for a reason.
Once you buy a song from Apple you are doing so thru iTunes and your computer saves it in iTunes (either in Purchased and/or in you Music Library)
Go to File menu
Select New Playlist
Name the new playlist
after you have bought all those hard to find brit tunes, drag them into your new playlist.
STOP RIGHT HERE. If you try to burn these songs to disk, it may or may not work depending on how you have the burning feature set up in your preferences . . .
so . . . open the iTunes preferences
Click on the "iTunes" menu item and choose "Preferences" on a Mac, Lord only knows how you get to preferences on a windows machine . . .
Once preferences are open,
1. click on "Advanced"
2. choose the "Burning" tab
3. and this is important . . . on "Disc Format" choose "Audio CD"
(see attached graphic)

If you have tried to burn a CD with purchased music and the preferences did not have Audio CD chosen iTunes will tell you it is unable to burn a cd. This is because the other options (MP3 CD and Data CD) would mean you are illegally copying a data file which is not allowed . . . making a regular music cd is OK)
After you have made these changes in iTunes preferences you will be able to burn the cd . . . so, collect all the songs you want on the disc in that playlist and then click "Burn CD" at the (at the bottom of the window on the Mac), and enjoy.

Thanks kobiashi!
Actually it was pretty easy. I admit, I was a little intimidated. I was afraid that I would pay for a bunch of songs and then find out that I can only listen to them on my computer.
I found thirteen songs that I though would go together in a mix. Bought them. Put them into a playlist, and then hit the button on the bottom right and the songs burned onto my disk.
I'm extremely thrilled to have these songs that I've been hearing on internet radio for about a year now, to listen to at my leisure. It's awsome! I've had Discoded by Orbient stuck in my head all day, because I knew it would be the first one I bought. The problem is, now I have to go to bed (and my girl is already asleep) and I want to crank this CD.
I'm going to go broke, aren't I?

Hey! I'm back with more questions!
It's so cool to have the songs that I can't find in the store. We even have a couple small, independant stores that carry tons of obscure stuff.
Now, the deal is: how to I copy the play list information so that I can have it accompany the CD? I don't need fancy art work or album covers. I just want to be able to copy the song list that I'm looking at for a particular playlist.
Can anyone help? I can't type all that well, and so far that's the only way I know how to do this.
Thanks!
