louder

I have a 2004 ford f150 with borla exaust and i want to make it louder, but i have emission test here in georgia. What is the best way to make it louder? will taking off 2 cats help that much?

if you take the cats off i think that mite make it illegal if you have emmissions there

it all depends on how much $$ you have. My headers and cats cost about $550 and I'm still emission legal

there is a few out Dynatech and pacesetter makes longtubes. and Jba makes a good set of shorties but if you want to make the most power and TQ get some long tubes. It all comes down to how much you want to spend.

what are the differences between shorties, long tubes, and open headers? And which one is the loudest

shortys suck & gain you no power or sound & longtubes do the exact opposite.

cut your precats out & get 2.5" piping welded inplace & it will look factory & sound better without robbing your torque like clearing them do.

& I'm a Flowmaster guy, I love the sound of Flowmaster, 40 series is what you should look into. http://flowmastermufflers.com/mufflers.html
